Macmillan Coffee Morning - 29th September

In the UK there will be approximately 365,000 people diagnosed with cancer this year.

Macmillan Cancer Support is a great charity that helps people suffering with Cancer as well as their families in so many different ways. With the numbers rising each year of those affected by cancer, Sustain UK is participating in the “World’s Biggest Coffee Morning.”

The coffee morning is “Macmillan’s flagship fundraising event, which takes place each year towards the end of September. The idea is simple – all you need to do is get together with family, friends or colleagues over coffee and cake. All money raised will enable Macmillan to continue providing emotional, financial, medical and practical support to people affected by cancer.”

ISO 9001 Quality Management Accreditation – August 2017

Following a rigorous audit of our systems, we are very pleased to announce that we have received confirmation from QMS International Ltd that we have once again retained our IS0 9001 Quality Management accreditation.

ISO 9001 is the international Standard for Quality Management. It specifies the requirements for organisations, large and small, to successfully implement systems which demonstrate to customers that Quality Assurance is of paramount importance.

It focuses on demonstrating: –

  • Efficient and effective processes
  • Processes which truly listen to customer views
  • Continuous improvement, using non-conformity reporting and trend analysis
  • Fact based decision making using robust data

Pauline Joyce (Sustain Chief Executive) says “We are obviously very pleased with the recognition from QMS that our systems have retained this level of excellence. We are very committed to our Tenants wellbeing and believe strongly that by adhering to national regulatory standards and best practice and also by being very responsive to local community needs, that we achieve not only very good value for money but also support our customers in a manner that enables them to achieve a respected place in the community”.

ISO 14001 Environmental Certificate - 12th July 2017

We are very pleased to announce that we have just received The ISO 14001 certification for our commitment and hard work in the preservation of the environment. This globally recognised standard is awarded to businesses and maps out a framework that a company or organisation can follow to set up an effective environmental management system.

In achieving the ISO 14001 certification, Sustain has proved that we meet the high standards and expectations set out by the International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO) to protect the environment.

We  take pride in reducing the environmental impact we have on the world and in the successful acquisition of the ISO 14001 standard that dedication has been validated. In order to achieve certification, we had to demonstrate a systematic approach to environmental management and show dedication to sustainable development.

Sustain Director and Environmental Champion, Adam Barwell, said: ”We see the attainment of ISO 14001 as an important aspect of our ‘continual improvement’ workplan and also a way of demonstrating our strong commitment to the community we live and work in”.

The QMS consultant who worked with us said “Sustain demonstrated to QMS that they are determined to reduce their business’ environmental footprint, seek to ethically source resources, strive to manage waste effectively through recycling, responsibly address pollution concerns”
