 | April was a busy and enjoyable month, with two fantastic tenant engagement events taking place. We welcomed tenants to our regular Friends of Sustain Coffee Morning, as well as a free and creative Leather Craft Workshop enjoyed by all who attended.
At Sustain, we always aim to make our tenant events fun, interactive, and welcoming for everyone. Whether you would like to join in with the activities, meet new people, or simply relax with a chat and enjoy some delicious refreshments, there is something for everyone.
There is never any pressure to take part in anything you are not comfortable with. Our sessions are relaxed, informal, and designed to give tenants the opportunity to socialise, build friendships, and get to know the Sustain team in a friendly and supportive environment. The Leather Craft Workshop was a lovely event and was enjoyed by everyone who attended, including some new tenants joining us for the first time. It was wonderful to see people coming together, getting involved, and enjoying learning something new in a relaxed and welcoming setting. |

Tenants who had attended our previous leather workshop continued to build on the skills they had already learned and each created their own coaster. Those attending for the first time focused on learning a new stitching technique and proudly made their own key rings to take home.
There was plenty of laughter and conversation throughout the session, with tenants chatting, getting to know one another, and enjoying refreshments together. As always, the event was not just about learning new skills, but also about bringing people together and creating an enjoyable social atmosphere.
One of our tenants, Garth, also shared with us a wonderful new experience he enjoyed during April. Garth kindly agreed for us to share his story with you all under our Spotlight Feature. |

Garth recently attended a residential confidence-building course at Fircroft College titled Becoming the Best of Myself. The course took place over a weekend, with Garth arriving on Friday afternoon and returning home on Sunday.
During his stay, Garth met like-minded individuals who, like him, were working to step outside of their comfort zones. The weekend included a range of group work and interactive workshops focused on self-awareness, personal values, individual strengths, and understanding roles within family and friendship groups. |
| | Each day also provided opportunities to socialise with other participants after the sessions had ended, which Garth found both enjoyable and beneficial.
The course was free and open to anyone looking to build confidence and increase their independence. Garth is now looking forward to attending similar courses in the future, as he continues to develop his confidence and work towards living independently.
If you would like to find out about the training courses available, please give the office a call on the usual number 0121 428 2221 |
