 | As we move into March, we welcome the arrival of spring, a season of renewal and fresh opportunities. It’s hard to believe we are already a quarter of the way through the year, and it has been a positive start for Sustain UK Ltd. Over the past months, we’ve made good progress, continuing to support our tenants and strengthen connections. Looking ahead, we’re pleased to share a range of upcoming events and activities. Thank you for being part of our journey, there’s much more to come.
Since our last update, we have been busy behind the scenes carrying out important work to support and improve our services. Many of you may have received a call inviting you to take part in our regular tenant survey, which we are committed to delivering. This survey gives you the opportunity to share your views on how we are doing. On this occasion, we focused on contacting tenants under the age of 35, thank you to everyone who took part.
Listening to your feedback is a vital part of what we do. It helps us to identify where we can improve, while also giving you the chance to raise any concerns or issues that can often be resolved through a simple phone conversation. Of the 179 tenants we contacted, we were able to speak with 35%. We are keen to increase this, so if you do receive a call in the future, please do take part—it really does make a difference.
On 25 March, we also held our regular Friends of Sustain Coffee Morning. It was another positive session, focusing on the type of support tenants would like from their Support Worker. The discussion was friendly, focused, and productive, enjoyed over coffee and cake. As always, your views are taken seriously and acted upon wherever possible. | You are warmly invited to join us at the next Friends of Sustain Coffee Morning. By signing up and getting involved, you can help shape the future of the services that Sustain UK Ltd provides to all tenants.
This is a perfect lead-in to our next article. |

| David’s Story - David’s Journey with Friends of Sustain | | |

David joined Friends of Sustain a few months ago, and the progress he has made in that short time has been remarkable. At his first meeting, David was very quiet and chose to sit beside me, his support worker. When questions were asked, he would whisper his answers to me so that I could share them with the group on his behalf. Despite his shyness, the team made every effort to include him, which David later told me he really appreciated. He said that their encouragement made him feel more confident about trying to engage more at the next meeting.
By his second visit, David had already begun to come out of his shell. When asked questions, he responded directly to the group without relying on me to speak for him. This was a significant step forward and a clear sign that he was becoming more comfortable in the environment.
At the most recent meeting on 25th March, David’s transformation was even more evident. He chose not to sit next to me and instead joined the group independently. He answered questions confidently and even began asking his own. The team were delighted to see such a positive change in both his behaviour and his attitude.
A lovely moment during the session came when David realised that he and Sian had attended the same school. The two of them enjoyed reminiscing and catching up, which added to David’s growing sense of connection within the group.
On the journey home, David expressed how much he had enjoyed the session and said he was already looking forward to the next event on 15th April. His enthusiasm and growing confidence show just how far he has come since his first meeting.

🌟Motivational Quote of the Month🌟 |
✨“Small steps can lead to big changes, keep going at your own pace.”✨ |
This quote is a reminder that progress doesn’t have to be big or fast to matter. Even small steps, like trying something new, asking for support, or making a positive choice, can lead to real change over time. Everyone’s journey is different, so it’s important to move at a pace that feels right for you and to recognise every step forward as an achievement. |
