On Wednesday 26th November, the UK Government announced its 2025 Winter Budget, presented by Chancellor Rachel Reeves.

“Sustain UK broadly supports the government’s Budget announcement regarding the changes to housing benefit and the introduction of earned income disregards.
“As a supported housing provider, Sustain UK’s care plans seek to encourage and build resilience and independence in our residents, so we’re supportive of measures that help support people back into work.
“The adjusted housing benefit should play a role in easing the financial ‘cliff edge’ of going into work, encourage employment, and increase stability for some vulnerable people.
“Over the past year, Sustain UK has been partnering with the DWP on its Moving On project in Birmingham, and has witnessed firsthand the value of providing extra support at pivotal moments in people’s lives.”
