IMPORTANT INFORMATION
- People are being told not to go into public places for 14 days if you have visited any of the following countries:
- Mainland China, Thailand, Japan, Republic of Korea, Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia, Macao, Hong Kong.
- It is crucial to call the NHS advice line if you have visited China. You can do so by calling 111
- Do not allow staff to attend work if they have visited the countries listed above.
General Advice
- Avoid public transport where possible. Coronavirus is spread through close contact.
- Avoid cultural belief gatherings, sports stadiums night clubs and similar areas where close contact occurs, including doctors surgery’s where possible.
- Do not share drinking cups.
- If you have a cough – cover your mouth with a tissue, not your hands; dispose of the tissue immediately in a bin.
- Regularly wash your hands with soap and water.
- Carry hand sanitiser with you and use regularly.
The symptoms of Coronavirus are:
- A cough
- Shortness of breath
- High temperature
Recommendations to home providers
- Supply hand sanitiser in all properties.
- Supply support workers with hand sanitiser
- Where possible limit the number of different staff visiting different properties
- Do not allow staff to attend work if they have visited any of the countries listed above, or been in contact with anyone who has for 14 days after contact.
- Supply all houses with Dettol spray and provide support to tenants to ensure this is used correctly throughout each property (Dettol has been proven to kill previous strains of the virus and is expected to kill the new strain; however, tests are currently being conducted)
