We’re Turning Up the Heat on Winter Support | | |
| Winter’s on the way, but don’t worry, we’ve got your back!
Here at Sustain, we’ve been keeping up with Birmingham City Council’s winter plans so you know exactly what support’s out there.
We shared all the details at our Friends of Sustain Coffee Morning on 15 October, and now it’s your turn to find out more.
But before we get into how to keep warm and supported this winter, here’s a little update on what’s been happening at Sustain since we last checked in. |

| | | | African Drumming Workshop – A Resounding Success! | | |

On 17 September, Sustain hosted an energetic and uplifting African Drumming Session at St. Mary’s Church Hall. The event was very well attended by tenants and their Support Workers, who fully embraced the opportunity to learn, play, and connect through music.
Participants were introduced to a range of traditional drums and percussion instruments in a fun, workshop-style setting. The session culminated in an exciting grand finale, where everyone came together to perform using the instruments they had learned to play, creating a powerful rhythm and a wonderful sense of community.
The illustrations show just how much joy and enthusiasm filled the room!

Our Friends of Sustain Coffee Mornings are the perfect place to find out what’s happening that could benefit you. At our last session, we shared important updates from Birmingham City Council about their Winter Plans, including support to help you stay in your home for longer and the introduction of 17 new Warm Spaces across the city. All the latest information is available on the Tenant Portal, but by becoming a Friend of Sustain, you’ll hear about new projects, support services, and helpful initiatives first-hand, directly from us.
